Doctor Who - Season 1/Series 14 - Official Intro/Sync Comparison
Now that the first season of Russell T Davies second era as showrunner has come to an end, here is a quick comparison of both the titles used and the varying degrees of how well synced they are throughout the season!
As a guide, the top left title sequence is how the titles should appear, with the visuals & audio synced.
Out of all of this season’s intros, the intro for ‘Dot and Bubble’ is the closest to being in sync, with the rest of the intros’ (except for 1.01/14.01 - ‘Space Babies’) visuals starting later than they should.

Did we ever have this problem in the Chibnall era? Why does this happen with the Murray Gold titles?
Why dont they render ONE sequence then add the titles in post???
oh no they do that. but it seems that nobody could figure out when to start showing the intro because the sting at the very start is supposed to happen before it even begins, as a transition between the cold open and the titles. I could imagine that that would vary from episode to episode based on how long they feel the last shot should linger before the title sequence, but it's a massive oversight to even allow the visuals and audio to get de-synced in editing. Maybe whoever was editing these didn't realise all the little flourishes that are supposed to tie the music and visuals together, but it's really absurd that they wouldn't notice and only get it right once. i personally don't like the thing at the end of the theme where all the instruments play that rhythm that ends in one big orchestra hit sort of thing. because it's cheesy but also because it pretty much always messes with whatever comes right after. maybe that had something to do with the de-sync? idk, it's just baffling. also surprising that they were messing it up 10 years ago and nobody reminded them not to do it then

Looking at the "synced" version I kind of don't get how the music is supposed to correspond to the visuals. Ever since the Star Beast, I feel like it's just a music playing with some random visuals that don't correspond to each other at all.

To be fair, I can live with a second or two out of sync, for the most part it's not that noticeable, apart from Episode 1 of course. Compared with the abomination of the Capaldi era we've gotten off lightly so far.

@YoungButRetro in mine it sounded perfect and the bass was there and u could hear the piano aswell in the theme and people was like clapping but i believe they should have made it louder at yours to bring the excitement up
